Welcome to our Group
Our Scout Group is based in Virginia Water in Surrey. We are committed to giving our members every opportunity to gain skills and experiences. We have offered traditional scouting activities such as camping along with more modern and adventurous activities such as Hiking in the Brecon Beacons and Kayaking along local rivers.
Our leadership team includes people with Kayak coaching qualifications and Mountain Leader Qualifications. We actively promote new ideas for activities and accept help and support wherever it is offered (subject to normal CRB checks).
Quick information:
- Beavers meet on a Wednesday 6:00pm to 7:15pm.
- Cubs meet on a Monday 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
- Scouts meet on Thursday 7:15 to 9:15pm.
Activities
Activities we have, and will be offering include: Camping, Football, Swimming, Archery, Kayaking, Car Racing (toys) and much more.
We operate equal opportunities policy and all are welcome. There is a regular subscription that covers our operating costs and the operation of the Scout Association. We do not make a profit and all Leaders and Helpers in the group are volunteers. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
We follow the rules and regulations of the Scout Association, as part of this all the leaders and helpers are required to complete an enhanced criminal records check. We also ask all parents to complete this check, though it is not a requirement of your children joining, however if this is not completed we will not be able to offer the parents any involvement in our active and enjoyable group.
We are a uniformed organization. Each group has its own scarf colours ours is Gold with a Purple Border. More details can be found on the scout association website at: www.scouts.org.uk
